Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians

Grassroots Appalachia is now an official satellite of the Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians. Alen D. Baker, Founder, Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians, shares, “I appreciate this store and the Appalachia theme. We focused on the Southern Appalachians for the fly fishing museum to collect and recognize the rich history of fly fishing in our area. Grassroots Appalachia is a perfect place for an official Satellite Location of the museum. This store will share a local hint of our heritage in fly fishing which is but one of many stories to share about Appalachia.” Look for an article soon on the Appalachian Chronicle about this association, which we are thrilled about and honored.

Western North Carolina Sculpture Park

The Western North Carolina Sculpture Center is located in Happy Valley, only 8 miles from Grassroots Appalachia. The nonprofit community-based art organization offers a free sculpture park with over 100 works on display and is open every day from dawn until dusk. The mission of the Park is to advocate for the appreciation and production of sculpture in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. We are proud to display and have for sale four sculptures of Joseph Bigley, the Park’s executive director. Look for an article soon on the Appalachian Chronicle about this association, which is another sign of the cooperative spirit of our region’s creative people.
